Safeguarding Policy
As a private Health Visitor, I am fully committed to promoting the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of all children, young people, and families I work with. Safeguarding is at the heart of my practice, and I take all concerns seriously.
I adhere to the principles and guidance set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018) and all relevant local safeguarding procedures. I maintain up-to-date enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and engage in regular safeguarding and child protection training to ensure best practice.
If I have concerns that a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk of harm, I have a professional duty to act. This may include seeking advice from, or making a referral to, the appropriate safeguarding authorities. Wherever possible and appropriate, I will discuss concerns with parents or carers first, unless doing so would increase risk.
All information shared with me is treated with sensitivity and confidentiality. However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed if there is a safeguarding concern that requires escalation to protect a child or vulnerable adult.
I am committed to working transparently, respectfully, and collaboratively with families and professionals to ensure that all children are safe, supported, and able to thrive.
